Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 April, as part of the program of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the delegation of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, led by its Speaker, Numan Kurtulmuş.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of the Turkish parliament conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The meeting focused on key issues related to further deepening the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, as well as strengthening the bonds of friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership.

It was noted with particular satisfaction that in recent years, relations between the two countries have reached an unprecedentedly high level. Bilateral trade and investment volumes are growing dynamically, joint projects are being successfully implemented, new enterprises are being established, and the network of direct flights continues to expand. Major cultural events are held regularly, contributing to mutual understanding and bringing the two peoples closer together.

Special attention was given to the enhancement of inter-parliamentary cooperation. The important role of friendship groups was emphasized in shaping the current bilateral agenda, developing interregional ties, and ensuring oversight of the implementation of high-level agreements.
