Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 August, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a Turkish delegation led by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
At the beginning of the meeting, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The discussion focused on the prospects for further development of Uzbek-Turkish relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as expanding cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, and tourism sectors.
It was noted that the current level of interaction between the two countries has reached a high standard, as evidenced by the growth in mutual trade volumes, investments, cargo transportation, and business and tourism trips. More than 90 flights are operated weekly between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, highlighting the close contacts between the two nations.
Special attention was given to continuing active cultural and humanitarian exchanges. The participants emphasized the importance of swiftly adopting a "roadmap," establishing institutional mechanisms for practical interaction, conducting national culture and film days, and promoting joint projects in the fields of art, cultural heritage preservation, and tourism potential. These areas are considered priorities for further strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
