President of Uzbekistan meets with Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 February, following his return from Kuwait, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), a prominent statesman and former Prime Minister of Türkiye. Yıldırım arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in international events dedicated to urban development.
At the beginning of the meeting, Binali Yıldırım conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The discussions focused on strengthening multifaceted cooperation within the OTS, emphasizing the key role of the Council of Elders in coordinating and enhancing multilateral interactions. Both sides underscored that expanding practical partnerships and intensifying contacts contribute to the successful implementation of programs and initiatives adopted at OTS summits. They also exchanged views on preparations for upcoming OTS events.
Notably, the Council of Elders serves as a permanent advisory body within the Organization of Turkic States.
The Turkic World Urban Planning Congress is organized by the Union of Engineers and Architects, established in 2002 in Ankara. The khokimiyats of Samarkand and Navoi actively participate in its activities.
