President of Uzbekistan instructs to increase the export of industrial products to Europe

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to increase exports of industrial products to Europe to US$700 million in 2023. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

The President noted that Uzbekistan has joined the GSP + system for more than a year. Up to 70% of transport costs for finished products sold on the European market are subsidized.

However, it turned out that out of 6,200 duty-free goods included in GSP+, Uzbekistan exports only 325 types of goods, he added.

The reason is that our enterprises cannot join large supply chains, they do not have international certificates. Even if the quality of goods is good, enterprises cannot sell their product, the President said.

In this regard, the President set a task for officials to increase industrial exports to Europe to 600 items of products next year and the volume of exports to US$700 million.
