Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 December 2024, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, warmly congratulating him on his birthday.
President Mirziyoyev extended his best wishes to his Kyrgyz counterpart for robust health, family prosperity, and success in implementing large-scale reforms aimed at the country’s development and improving the well-being of its people.
During the conversation, the leaders discussed strengthening and expanding Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations based on friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling previously reached agreements.
The presidents highlighted significant progress in bilateral cooperation. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover between the two countries has exceeded $700 million. The joint investment fund is actively operating, and projects are being implemented in industries such as engineering, energy, electrical equipment, textiles, and agriculture. Interregional ties are strengthening, along with the development of business contacts and cultural exchanges.
Both leaders stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of major infrastructure projects. The upcoming launch of construction for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway was noted as a key milestone in advancing the region’s transport and energy infrastructure.
The presidents also exchanged views on regional cooperation in Central Asia and discussed upcoming joint events aimed at further deepening their partnership.
