Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the arrival of 2025, reflecting on the achievements of the past year and outlining priorities for the future.
"With all my heart, I congratulate you, the multinational people of Uzbekistan, on the upcoming New Year 2025," the president said in his address.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that despite global challenges, 2024 was a successful year for the nation. Among the key achievements, he highlighted the implementation of the New Uzbekistan initiative, made possible through "the dedicated efforts and civic engagement of our people." He also noted that the recent elections to the Oliy Majlis and local Kengashes marked a new stage in the country's democratic reforms.
The president mentioned significant advancements in infrastructure, IT, business, and tourism. "New high-tech industrial complexes, infrastructure and logistics networks, as well as roads and railways, have been built in the country," he said. He further underlined the improved income levels and quality of life, while acknowledging the rich harvest secured by the hard work of farmers.
Mirziyoyev gave special recognition to the achievements of the youth, stating: "Record-breaking accomplishments at the Olympic and Paralympic Games have opened a new chapter in the history of national sports." He also highlighted Uzbekistan's growing international standing, which has been bolstered by sustainable development and an atmosphere of harmony and friendship in society.
The president declared 2025 the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy, stressing the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental stewardship. "We will create even greater opportunities for businesses, firmly continue to safeguard private property, and actively attract foreign investments," he stated.
Among the priorities for 2025, Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined increasing salaries, pensions, scholarships, and benefits, as well as advancing science, education, healthcare, culture, and sports. He underscored the need to support veterans, women, youth, and military personnel, adding, "We will elevate the development of our Armed Forces to a new level."
Concluding his address, the president wished health, happiness, and prosperity to every citizen. "May our beloved Uzbekistan flourish! Happy New Year, my dear people!" he concluded.
