Powerful tornadoes swept through the central and southern United States over the past weekend. According to CNN, as of 17 March, the death toll had reached at least 39, with several individuals still missing. The disaster also left more than 250,000 homes without electricity.
Among the hardest-hit states were Mississippi, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. The destructive winds were accompanied by dust storms, which severely reduced visibility on roads. According to U.S. media reports, some victims lost their lives in traffic accidents caused by the adverse weather conditions.
