President of Uzbekistan discusses with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic specific projects for the development of industrial and technological partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 April, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a government delegation of the Czech Republic headed by Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who is in Tashkent on an official visit.

Topical issues of further development of Uzbek-Czech relations and deepening practical cooperation between the two countries in priority areas were discussed.

It should be noted that the Czech Republic has traditionally been an important European partner of our country. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Over the past few years, the volume of mutual trade has doubled, the number of joint ventures and projects - 2.5 times.

Currently, projects are being implemented for the production of building materials, the production of medical equipment, and the development of business infrastructure.

Traditionally, active exchanges are carried out in the areas of education, healthcare and culture. Within the framework of this visit, an exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Uzbek-Czech archaeological expedition was also opened.

During the meeting, the importance of effectively using the potential of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, which are industrial leaders in their regions, was especially noted.

The need to intensify the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission and hold its next meeting was emphasized.

The fruitful results of the business forum held today with the participation of leading enterprises of our countries and the presentation of promising projects were highly appreciated.

The mining industry, energy modernization, power engineering, electrical engineering, agriculture, textile and leather industries, transport and logistics, organization of direct flights, development of transport corridors and others are designated as priority areas.

The importance of using tools to support and co-finance projects aimed at the widespread introduction of advanced Czech technologies in our country was emphasized.

A decision was made to create working groups and develop "road maps" for each area of cooperation.

In addition, the activities of the Business Council are being resumed, within the framework of which regular business forums are planned to be held in the capitals and regions of Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic.

Special attention was paid to the expansion of humanitarian exchange, including an increase in quotas for the education of Uzbek students in leading Czech universities and the adoption of a program of cultural events.
