Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 March, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank led by Jin Liqun, President of this reputable financial institution.

The practical aspects of the further expansion of the multifaceted partnership were considered.

The head of our state noted with satisfaction the high level of interaction with the Bank achieved in recent years.

The cooperation portfolio has grown to US$2 billion. Important projects are being implemented in the field of transport, energy, healthcare, agriculture and utilities, and business support.

President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun highly appreciated and declared his readiness to fully support the program of irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan.

The Bank’s commitment to expanding strategic partnership with Uzbekistan in such key areas as combating poverty and creating jobs, primarily in rural areas, developing solar energy, introducing public-private partnership mechanisms and mixed project financing, expanding support for entrepreneurship and others was emphasized.

Particular attention was paid to the promotion of strategically important infrastructure projects in the Central Asian region.

An agreement was reached on the development of a new medium-term Partnership Program and a road map aimed at accelerating the implementation and ensuring the effectiveness of full-scale cooperation projects.
