Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 29 June, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The head of state warmly congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, wishing him robust health, well-being, and great success, as well as peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.

The historical role of the National Leader in the formation and dynamic development of modern Turkmenistan, in enhancing the country's international standing, and in strengthening the multifaceted Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership was highlighted.

The leaders expressed great satisfaction with the progress in bilateral cooperation in recent years. Trade turnover is increasing, a cross-border trade zone is being established, and important joint economic and humanitarian programs are being implemented.

The importance of working out new cooperation projects in industry, transport, energy, agriculture, and the development of interregional and cultural exchange at the upcoming meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was emphasized.

They also discussed current aspects of regional interaction in Central Asia.
