Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 December, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On measures to uninterruptedly provide consumers with motor gasoline in the autumn-winter period and prevent a sharp increase in prices for it."

The document notes that from 10 December 2022 to 1 March  2023, as an exception, excise tax on imported and local AI-80 gasoline, as well as the accrual and collection of excise tax on its retail sale, will be zeroed in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the abolition of the excise tax on AI-80 gasoline, 213.7 billion soums will remain at the disposal of the population and entrepreneurs. The state budget will not count this amount.

Until 1 April 2023, Uzneftegazinspektsii and Uzenergoinspektsii, as an exception, received the right to check entrepreneurs for illegal and inefficient use of energy resources without the consent of the business ombudsman. At the same time, they should not interfere in the financial and economic activities of companies.

Based on the results of inspections, the Uzneftegazinspektsiya and Uzenergoinspektsiya can submit appeals to law enforcement agencies on the application of penalties against persons who have allowed unnecessary losses of gasoline and theft.
