Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, arrived in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

The head of our state at the airport was met by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov and other officials.

As previously reported, tomorrow, on 21 July, the Fourth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia will be held in Cholpon-Ata. 

The summit will consider issues of further expansion of practical cooperation, including in the field of trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, innovation, food security, tourism, cultural and humanitarian exchange and other areas. There will also be an exchange of views on issues of ensuring stability and sustainable development in the region.

A number of documents are expected to be signed.

It should be especially noted that the initiative to hold a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017 during the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The first summit of the leaders of the region was held in March 2018 in Nur-Sultan, the second - in November 2019 in Tashkent, the third meeting - in August last year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.
