Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan signed a law introducing amendments and additions to several legislative acts.

According to the changes and additions to the Land Code and the Law "On Farming," it is now possible to sublease agricultural land parcels located along canals, irrigation, and drainage networks at the edges of fields for a period of up to 10 years.

The amendments also allow landowners, land users, and tenants to grow optimal crops or plant mulberry trees on land parcels, as well as in the inter-rows of orchards and vineyards.

Additionally, an amendment to the Land Code stipulates that land plots of up to 10 hectares can be allocated to farms, agro-industrial clusters, and other legal entities specializing in sericulture and mulberry cultivation.

Furthermore, according to the changes and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, the Inspectorate for Agricultural and Industrial Complex Control and the Inspectorate for Water Management Facility and Water Use Safety Control are granted the authority to review cases of administrative violations.

The law comes into force upon its official publication.
