Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree approving an international agreement with Kyrgyzstan.
According to this decree, the head of Uzbekistan has approved the agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan concerning the resort and recreation facilities located in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.
This agreement was signed on 18 July 2024, in Tashkent during the visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to Uzbekistan.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan approved this agreement on 23 September 2024.
The agreement aims to regulate ownership rights to the resort and recreation facilities located in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as to ensure their further functioning.
The list of facilities includes the "Golden Sands of Central Asia" (formerly "Bosteri"), "Rohat-NBU" (formerly "Rahat"), "Dilorom" (formerly "Enesai"), and the unfinished "Buston" resort.
The Kyrgyz side is transferring ownership rights to these facilities to the Uzbek side.
The Uzbek side will designate authorized organizations to exercise ownership rights over these facilities.
The Joint-Stock Company "Tashkent Mechanical Plant" will be authorized for the "Golden Sands of Central Asia" resort, while the Joint-Stock Company "National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan" will be responsible for the "Rohat-NBU" resort.
The Joint-Stock Company "Asaka Bank" will be authorized for the "Dilorom" resort, and the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank "Uzpromstroybank" will oversee the unfinished construction of the "Buston" resort.
In August 2023, President Sadyr Japarov answered questions in an interview with the "Kabar" agency regarding the lease of four resorts on Issyk-Kul to Uzbek investors.
