Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the BRICS summit in Kazan, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh.
They discussed the prospects for strengthening multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, particularly in trade, economic, and investment sectors.
The parties noted the necessity of systematizing intergovernmental and inter-agency contacts, proposing to hold the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Issues at the beginning of next year, as well as to organize a business forum and an industrial exhibition in Hanoi.
To promote new projects, it was suggested to develop a program for the development of industrial cooperation in sectors such as petrochemicals, electrical engineering, textile, and agriculture. The emphasis was also placed on expanding business and tourist exchanges, including the introduction of a visa-free regime.
The schedule for future high-level contacts was discussed. The Prime Minister of Vietnam invited President Mirziyoyev to visit Vietnam on an official trip.
