Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Qatar Football Association Hamid bin Khalifa bin Ahmad Al-Thani arrived in Tashkent today.

The President of the Football Association was met by the President of the National Olympic Committee, the first vice-president of the Uzbekistan Football Association, Umid Akhmatjanov, who congratulated the President of the Qatar Football Association on the victory of the national team in the Asian Cup, the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association said.

In recent years, football in Qatar is developing rapidly. This is confirmed by the victory of the national team of Qatar in the Asian Cup, and holding the World Championship in Qatar in 2022.

Football associations of Uzbekistan and Qatar signed a memorandum of cooperation. During the visit, the parties are expected to discuss the organization of friendly matches between teams of different age categories. In addition, issues of conducting seminars for judges and coaches will be considered.

Tomorrow, both heads of associations will travel to Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) to participate in the next CAFA congress (Central Asian Football Association).
