Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Uzbek Embassy in Warsaw met with the President of LOT Polish Airlines, Michal Fiyol, Dunyo news agency reported.

At the meeting, issues of increasing the flow of tourists from Poland to Uzbekistan were discussed.

The representative of Poland said that on regular direct flights between Warsaw and Tashkent, launched by the airline on 13 March 2024, 1,571 passengers traveled to Uzbekistan as of 3 April. According to the President of LOT Polish Airlines, the potential of this route is a total of 40,000 passengers per year.

“The tourism potential of Uzbekistan is very high. Uzbekistan is one of the most interesting destinations in Central Asia for tourists from Poland and Europe in general. I am sure that your country, which is called the pearl of the Great Silk Road, will win the hearts of our tourists. In recent years, we have seen an increase in trade turnover between our countries. For example, the activity of Polish companies in the Uzbekistan market is growing every year. When opening this flight, we thought about the needs of a group of Uzbek citizens who work and study not only in Poland, but throughout Europe,” he said.

During the meeting, Michal Fiyol was invited to take part in the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will take place on 2-3 May.
