Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.

The President of Kyrgyzstan cordially congratulated the Leader of Uzbekistan on his convincing victory in the Presidential Election held the day before. As noted, the vote results are clear evidence of the trust and broad support of the country’s population for the ongoing pragmatic policy to ensure Uzbekistan’s sustainable socio-economic development.

During the telephone conversation, current issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed. Active interdepartmental contacts and fruitful exchanges at the level of business and regions of the two countries were noted.

On 1 June 2023, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan began its work in Osh. The trade turnover is growing, and joint projects are being implemented in the automotive, energy, electrical, and textile industries. The activity of the joint Investment Fund was launched.

In the humanitarian sphere, preparations are underway for the events of the Dialogue of Generations with the participation of the two countries’ elders, intellectuals, and youth.

The heads of state stressed the importance of the unconditional implementation of the agreements at the highest level.
