Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev especially noted the high dynamics of development of Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation across the entire spectrum of interaction.

Both sides discussed issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation, increasing the volume of trade turnover and strengthening interaction in the transit and transport sector.

President Tokayev noted the importance of building a new railway line between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, which will help increase cargo transportation volumes. The mutually beneficial participation of Uzbekistan in the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route was also emphasized.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings of the President of Uzbekistan.

According to the minister, the heads of states of the two countries have set a high bar for strengthening allied relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In this regard, Bakhtiyor Saidov shared plans for joint work to ensure the high-quality implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest level.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the water sector and ensuring regional security in Central Asia were also discussed.
