Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that localization holds significant potential not only for goods but also for services.

He cited the example of the energy sector, where 27 projects for producing gigawatt-level electricity worth US$36 billion are underway. There is a growing demand for skilled services in the operation and maintenance of high-tech equipment at such facilities.

Demand for such services is also evident in the chemical and metallurgical industries, as well as in pump stations, hydroelectric power stations, the textile industry, and medicine.

To address this, plans are in place to send 3,000 local specialists for training in Germany, Japan, South Korea, China, and Turkey over the coming year, with the government covering their expenses.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has been tasked with developing a program to increase the participation of local enterprises in providing services to large companies.
