During the talk, the sides noted the consistent development of relations between Uzbekistan and Japan. The closeness and the commonness of views of the heads of two states on issues of mutual cooperation, as well as regional and international problems play an important role in this, UzA reported.

Uzbek lader Islam Karimov said that the present visit was yet another demonstration of the mutual respect of Uzbekistan and Japan, and commonness of intentions towards development of cooperation based on the principles of trust and interest.

The Emperor of Japan said the meeting was a good opportunity to exchange views on the issues of further expansion of cooperation.
