Uzbek leader set up a working commission to critically study and prepare proposals aimed at dramatically improving the activities of financial, tax and customs authorities in accordance with the annex.

Deputy Prosecutor General Bekzot Mavlonov headed the working commission.

Uzbek leader said that the commission should study efficiency of management and control system, including workload, effectiveness of internal and external control mechanisms, etc.

The commission will study relevance and compliance of their activities with modern requirements and standards of these bodies.

It will also consider optimization of staff level due to introduction of ICT systems, which allow to allow to quickly monitor the progress and ensure the effective implementation of decisions.

The body will consider increasing revenue of the budget, including via cancelling individual benefits and preferences, searching additional and justified reserves. It will also submit recommendations on elimination of bureaucratic procedures and other obstacles for foreign economic activity, justification of the terms and cost of customs clearance in implementation of export-import transactions.

It will develop proposals for unification and harmonization of financial, tax and customs legislation with international principles and standards.

The commission will make offers to introduce advanced forms and methods of tax and customs control into the activities of tax and customs authorities. Special attention will be paid to organize a system of training personnel and hiring employees.

The President of Uzbekistan instructed the commission to submit to presidential administration draft laws and regulations on radical improvement of the activities of financial, tax and customs bodies by 15 April.

The Commission is allowed to involve foreign consultants and other specialists in its activities.
