Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On measures to strengthen social support for family members of military personnel and employees who died in the name of protecting the Motherland and the peaceful life of the people."

According to the document, the families of the fallen servicemen will be provided with a number of benefits and allowances.

Benefits and guarantees apply to family members of military personnel and employees of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the National Guard, the State Security Service, the State Security Service of the President, the State Customs Committee and the Center for the Development of Electronic Technologies who died in the name of protecting the homeland and peaceful life people.

From 1 April, the following guarantees will be in effect:

a one-time allowance in the amount of 150 times the amount of the official salary for the last position held and the salary for the military (special) rank of the deceased;

the sum insured in the amount of 200 sizes of basic estimated value, paid in connection with the death of a serviceman (employee) within the framework of the state compulsory personal insurance of military personnel (employees).

In addition, the khokimiyats and the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan were instructed to allocate a monthly allowance from additional sources of local budgets in an established amount not exceeding 50% of the minimum wage.

Benefits available from 1 May:

a survivor’s pension for each disabled family member in the amount of 50% of the salary accepted for calculating the pension;

monthly monetary compensation for the rental (sublease) of residential premises (if there is no housing in the property).

Also, family members (parents, spouse, children under the age of 23) are exempt from personal income tax on income in the amount of 3 minimum wages for each month in which these incomes are received.

Family members in need of housing will be provided with housing as a matter of priority. In addition, they retain the right to receive long-term preferential mortgage loans in accordance with the procedure established by law for providing these loans to military personnel.

From 1 June:

children of fallen servicemen will be admitted to pre-school educational institutions free of charge, to study in professional and higher educational institutions - according to additional quotas on the basis of a state grant;

the parents of a deceased serviceman (employee) are granted the right to free use of railway and air passenger transport twice a year;

family members of dead military personnel are provided with free rehabilitation in sanatorium-resort institutions and children’s health camps on the territory of Uzbekistan once a year;

at the expense of the state budget, free medical care will be provided by medical organizations providing high-tech specialized medical care;

expenses for the purchase of medicines (once a year) based on doctors’ prescriptions, medical and special prosthetic and orthopedic products based on a three-month need, as well as for surgical operations will be covered;

the right to use the next annual leave at a convenient time for them, as well as to receive additional leave without pay for up to two weeks a year.

The relevant ministries and departments will take under their patronage every family in which a serviceman (employee) has died. In particular, they will visit families, study issues of housing, employment, education, use of medical and social services, and other topical issues, as well as regularly assist them in solving existing problems, using benefits and guarantees.
