The agreement on cooperation in the area of legal protection of intellectual property and creation of Intergovernmental Council on issues of legal protection of intellectual property was inked at the session of the Council of the heads of states of the CIS members in Saint Petersburg on 19 November 2010.

Uzbek head determined the Agency for intellectual property of Uzbekistan as central competent body, State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan State Committee on demonopolization and development of competition of Uzbekistan as competitive bodies for agreement implementation.

President of Uzbekistan entrusted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to direct corresponding notification to depository about implementation of inter-state procedures, necessary for entering into force of the agreement and competitive bodies, responsible for agreement implementation.
