President appoints governors and their deputies to interact with IFIs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev appointed governors and their deputies for centralized interaction with international financial institutions (IFIs) on 20 December 2017.

On 20 December 2017, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to further enhance effectiveness of cooperation with international and foreign financial institutions”.

Mirziyoyev appointed the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments as an authorized body for centralized interaction with financial institutions (the office of the governor).

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sukhrob Holmurodov has been appointed as the governor for centralized interaction with the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Bank for Infrastructure Investments, the World Bank Group, the Islamic Development Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and other financial institutions.

The Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments is the Deputy Governor for Centralized Interaction with the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Bank for Infrastructure Investments, the World Bank Group, the Islamic Development Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and other financial institutions.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the authorized body for centralized interaction with the International Monetary Fund (the office of governor), the document said.

The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov was appointed as the governor for centralized interaction with the International Monetary Fund. The Deputy Governor for Centralized Interaction with the International Monetary Fund is the Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The President of Uzbekistan entrusted the offices of governors with interaction with relevant financial institutions and development of proposals on priority areas, "road maps" and programs for cooperation with financial institutions, as well as the most effective use of borrowed, credit and grant funds from financial institutions for the development of industries, regions republic.

Offices of governors will prepare recommendations on effective use of borrowed loan and grant funds of financial institutions, as well as monitor the progress of projects with foreign investments.

They also got the right to approve schedules of working meetings of missions of financial institutions, which are mandatory for compliance by ministries and departments, and sign, in the process of interaction with financial institutions, on behalf of the Republic of Uzbekistan, correspondence, memoranda, protocols and other documents necessary to carry out assigned tasks.
