The event included a presentation on the Fund Forum’s activities, which was attended by over 50 heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Geneva such as the UN Economic Commission for Europe, the UN Conference on Trade and Development, the WHO and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Those gathered were told about the activities overseen by the Fund Forum and its partner organizations in supporting local science, culture, education and sports. The guests praised the activities run by these organizations whose goals are to reduce poverty and boost living standards for the population, to further strengthen social and legal protection for mothers and children, to contribute to the development of healthcare and education, to boost women’s role in societal development and to promote gender equality.

The audience welcomed the active participation by the Women’s Council, “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association, Mehr nuri (Ray of mercy) Public Foundation and the Social Initiatives Support Fund in the recent international mother and child health symposium in Tashkent, with some noting that cooperation between governmental institutions and nongovernmental organizations is conducive to an effective achievement of goals for the welfare of citizens.

The participants of the meeting also had the opportunity to learn about the photo album “Fund Forum presents Uzbekistan”, which demonstrates Uzbekistan’s history and its modern look.

Those gathered showed a keen interest in major projects such as Asrlar sadosi (Echo of centuries) Festival of Traditional Culture and Style.Uz Art Week. The participants also drew attention to the broadening range of events overseen by the Fund Forum as evidenced by organization this year of the First Tashkent International Cinema Forum “Golden Guepard”, which brought together a host of big-name cinematographers in Tashkent.
