Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 16 December, in Tokyo, as part of the upcoming visit of the head of state to Japan, a seminar was held on cooperation between Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and large banks of Uzbekistan in the field of project finance.

The seminar was attended by representatives of SMBC, EBRD and banks of Uzbekistan, as well as more than 80 representatives of the business community of the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan’s Foreign Trade Development Organization.

During the event, information on the macroeconomic indicators of Uzbekistan, the reforms carried out to improve the investment and business environment, as well as the banking system’s capabilities in the field of trade finance were presented to the attention of the Japanese business community.

Presentation by the leadership of Uzpromstroybank on the bank’s activities, in particular, the transformation processes in a financial institution, carried out jointly with the International Finance Corporation, the successful debut among Uzbek companies in the international loan market were warmly received by Japanese businessmen.

The participants noted that such events serve as an effective platform for the development of mutual trade between our countries.
