Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In the French city of Domfront, a presentation was held on the theme “Uzbekistan on the Great Silk Road”, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France in cooperation with the tourist company “Samarkand Explore”.

Participants of the presentation from among representatives of official and business circles, travel agencies and the public of the city were acquainted with the huge tourism potential of our country, the development achievements and directions of the tourism industry of the republic, the advantages and new opportunities of tourism to Uzbekistan. The simplification of the visa regime for citizens of dozens of countries, the introduction of electronic and new types of visas (student, academic, medical, pilgrimage, investment), as well as the provision of safe tourism were highlighted.

The guests were also presented with national Uzbek cuisine, video and photo materials telling about the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, historical cities and architectural monuments of the country.

It was noted that peace and tranquility reign in Uzbekistan, and the hospitality of our people today is known throughout the world. In this context, those present were informed about an important political event in the country - elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and bodies of representative power, the voting of which will also take place abroad for citizens of the republic temporarily residing in foreign states.
