Presentation of the Smart Grid Network Project take place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 January 2019, the heads and specialists of relevant ministries and departments met with American developers and investors, where the Smart Grid + Wi-Fi 2.0 technologies and a number of other promising projects were discussed in detail.

The event was also attended by executives from US companies. During the meeting, a presentation of the Smart Grid Smart Network project was held, the problems of metering electricity, gas and water supply by relevant ministries and departments, as well as the compilation of a roadmap for a pilot project of the Delta Energy & Communications technology platform technology were discussed.

Considering the importance of the project, the participation of high-ranking managers and technical specialists in the field of electricity metering of gas, water and heat supply was ensured. The event was organized by the Ministry of Innovation Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The main goal of implementation of the Innovation Development Strategy for 2019-2021 is development of human capital as the main factor determining the level of a country’s competitiveness on the world stage. Its innovative progress is defined and the main task of the strategy is to include Uzbekistan by 2030 in the top 50 countries according to the Global Innovation Index.

During the implementation of the Strategy, coverage of such areas as state construction, development of human capital and research activities, improvement of infrastructure, markets, entrepreneurship, science and technology, and creative results is envisaged.

A promising project created by the specialists of the ministry together with Dreufus Capital is the Smart Grid installation of innovative “smart” system for metering and controlling the distribution and consumption of next-generation electricity with Wi-Fi, with the prospect of integrating gas and water metering and control systems. It can be the basis for the implementation of the concept of "smart city".

In order to consider the possibility of further implementation, the project was sent to interested ministries and agencies, such as the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry for Emergency Situations, the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement at the General Prosecutor’s Office, Uzbekneftegaz, Uzbekenergo, Uztransgazand Uzbektelecom.

Following the event, specialists from ministries and departments expressed interest in studying the project in more detail and it was proposed to organize a meeting with the American side to discuss technical issues and prospects for the project.
