Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 1 February 2022, a press conference was held at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the presentation of the project for the integrated development of Bostanlyk district, Tashkent region.

During the press conference, key directions were outlined for creating an international-level resort with an emphasis on preserving the environment, developing ecotourism and improving the ecological culture of the population; creation of a system of public spaces, as well as a modern interpretation of the traditional architecture of the mountain settlements of the region.

The event was opened by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov:

“Bostanlyk district has a high tourism, recreational and natural potential, the proper development of which entails a number of significant socio-economic, environmental and investment transformations.

The head of state and the government pay special attention to Bostanlyk district, in particular, to its sustainable development. In this regard, the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for the accelerated development of tourism by introducing a special management procedure in the Bostanlyk district” (UP-6053 from 27 August 2020), as well as the Decree of the President “On the creation of a free tourist and recreational zone” were adopted "Charvak" (No. UP-5273 from 12 May 2017).

The main emphasis in the design was placed on the preservation of the unique natural potential of Bostanlyk. In this regard, in the territories of Chorvok Darvozasi and Yusufkhona, it is planned to create an eco-framework, a sustainable system of public spaces and develop transport with a low carbon footprint. Particular attention was paid to traditional architecture. So on the territory of "Chorvok darvozasi: Janubiy Khodjikent, a modern image of a traditional mountain village" will be created

In pursuance of the decrees of the President, the Directorate of the TRZ “Charvak”, together with the khokimiyat of the Bostanlyk district and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is carrying out large-scale work on the integrated development of the Bostanlyk district.

As part of the work carried out, master plans and concepts for the development of two pilot territories as part of the Charvak TRZ were developed: Chorvok darvozasi: Janubiy Khodjikent and Yusufkhona. The design of territories and architectural solutions was carried out by a consortium of the design and consulting company "Novaya Zemlya" (Russian Federation) and the architectural bureau "ARC" (Uzbekistan) and the State Unitary Enterprise of the Institute "ToshboshplanLITI" in terms of adapting master plans into detailed planning projects.

According to the author of the architectural solutions of the project and the head of the architectural bureau "ARC" Bobir Klichev:

“When creating architectural solutions for the Chorvok Darvozasi project area, we were primarily guided by the fact that we should reflect the cultural and historical elements of the traditional mountain architecture of our region, namely: respect for nature and the natural topography of the mountainous area, traditional decoration using natural materials, such like stone, wood, adobe plaster. Thus, the main idea is to recreate the image of a traditional mountain village with dense buildings, a limited number of storeys, using aivans and terraces. The territory of Yusufhona will have a more modern look, but respect for nature and natural relief is mandatory.”

Suna Park Deputy Director of the Directorate of TRZ "Charvak":

“We see Bostanlyk as, first of all, human-centered: open, accessible and convenient for people. Despite the fact that a large number of local tourists visit Bostanlyk, not many have the opportunity to truly discover the beauty and uniqueness of this place, namely, the rich nature, culture and history of Bostanlyk. Therefore, we want to create the most comfortable conditions for recreation and recreation for people, starting with a convenient transport system, ending with parks and bike paths. The Directorate studied in detail international experience in the field of ecotourism and sustainable development of natural and recreational areas, and also applied the methodology of the Republic of Tatarstan to create a system of public spaces.”

The Directorate of the TRZ "Charvak" developed a program to introduce a system of sustainable waste management and improve environmental culture in the territory of Bostanlyk. The program includes a whole range of infrastructure solutions and activities aimed at improving the ecological culture of vacationers. Thus, it is planned to increase the coverage of services for individuals and legal entities for the removal of solid waste, including hard-to-reach mountainous areas; an algorithm has been developed for the installation of ballot boxes and information and educational social advertising, as well as forbidding and informing signs. In order to improve ecological culture and create comfortable and affordable conditions for recreation, a project has been developed to create public picnic areas, a pilot version of which is planned by the spring of this year.

When implementing projects and initiatives, special attention is paid to the active involvement and participation of the local population, members of the public and caring citizens. As part of this, the Bostonliq elchilari program was created, and a number of large-scale events and campaigns with the participation of the general public are planned.

During the press conference, the project of the Chimgan recreation area as part of the International All-Season Resort, implemented with the financial assistance of the French government, was also presented.
