Presentation of architectural epigraphy held in Geneva
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A presentation of the book “Masterpieces of Architectural Epigraphy in Uzbekistan” and opening ceremony of an exhibition of photos from the book were held at the Palace of Nations in Geneva on 29 April 2013.

The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan at Geneva in cooperation with Fund Forum and UN in Geneva.

Over 300 guests participated at the event, including heads of diplomatic missions, official, business and academic circles of Switzerland, mass media, international organizations with headquarters in Geneva.

The photo exhibition demonstrates the collection of the best architectural epigraphy in Uzbekistan and attracted interest of all participants into rich culture and history of Uzbekistan.

Music of Sato and Uzbek cuisine added additional national color to the event and helped the guests to feel Uzbek hospitality.

Chairperson of the UN Committee on culture issues David Chikvaidze expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side, Ambassador and head of Fund Forum Gulnara Karimov for organization of the exhibition. He said that the book “Masterpieces of Architectural Epigraphy in Uzbekistan” is a result of study of cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. He said that the exhibition helps to travel to beautiful cities of Uzbekistan through images.

At the event, a message of the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN in Geneva Gulnara Karimova was delivered to the participants. She said that the book was created by several scholars and specialists and it indicates serious attention of Uzbekistan to preservation and rehabilitation cultural and spiritual values.
