Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - President of the International Judo Federation Marius Wieser answers questions from his subscribers on social networks. Yesterday, Mr. Wieser on his Twitter answered several questions from judo fans.
-Mr. Wieser, as you know the Olympic Games were postponed to 2021. World Cup 2021, which was supposed to be held in Tashkent, can it be shifted to 2020? Is there a chance that the Tashkent Grand Prix, which will be held in October 2020, will be able to become a world championship?
-Now we are going through a difficult time, and the current situation was unexpected for us. Of course, after things get better, we’ll review the holding of qualification competitions and other judo tournaments.
-How will the selections on Tokyo-2021 take place on the example of judo? What system?
- Very soon, the International Olympic Committee will provide new instructions. After eliminating the “pandemic”, we will develop a new strategy and schedule.
-The Paris Olympics of 2024 will also be postponed for a year?
- In my opinion, the transfer of the Olympics to Tokyo is the right decision. Making such a decision was not easy. I hope that by 2024 all the dangers will be eliminated, and the Paris Olympics will be held in due time.
