Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – Uzbek judoka Diyora Keldiyorova, competing in the -52 kg weight category, has become the champion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In the final, she defeated Distria Krasniqi from Kosovo, who had previously won the Olympic gold medal in Tokyo in the -48 kg weight category.

This medal is Uzbekistan’s first at the 2024 Games.

Keldiyorova has become the first woman from Uzbekistan to win an Olympic gold medal. She is also the first Uzbek judoka to achieve this honor. Prior to this, athletes from Uzbekistan had not won Olympic gold in judo.
