Uzbekistan’s population consumes services for 6.298 trln soums in 2009
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of paid services rendered to population of Uzbekistan in 2009, made up 6.298 trillion soums, or grew by 12.9% year-on-year.

The main part of services was rendered by official sector of economy (65.9%). The sector rendered services for 4.151 trillion soums, which is up 15.7% year-on-year.

Individual businesses rendered services for 2.146 trillion soums (up 7.7% year-on-year) and its share made up 34.1% in total volume of rendered paid services.

Share of non-governmental sector in total volume of paid services rendered to population decreased from 80.3% in 2008 to 80.2% in 2009.

Share of personal services in the total volume of paid services was 10.3% or 647.9 billion soums. Their real volume has exceeded the level of January-December 2008 by 18.7%. The share of services rendered by individual entrepreneurs in the personal services sector was 85.9%. The volume of services rendered by this sector was 556.5 billion soums and the growth rate made up 19.3%.

Total volume of market services by all kinds of activity in Uzbekistan comprised 26.255 trillion soums in 2009, including 6.626 trillion soums in the rural area, or 25% of the total volume of rendered services. Compared to 2008, the real growth of services was 16.7%.

The high growth rates were achieved in the following services: tourism -30.7%, repair of vehicles and other equipment – 30.2%, financial, including microcredit granting - 24.7%, personal services - 22.6%, internal trade and catering services – 21.8% and communication and information, including services of information and resource centers - 21.6%.

The following services prevailed in the structure of services: transport (31.7% of total services), trade and catering (17.2%), communal (13.2%), financial, including microcredit granting (8%), communication and information, including services of information and resource centers (7.2%).
