Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 19 July, Acting Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Gulamov met with a delegation from Thailand led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bussadee Santipitaks.

The delegation included leaders from major Thai companies such as Samitivej Hospital, PTT Oil and Retail, Thai President Food, Siang Heng, Marine Tech International, CTI Logistics, and Anita Silk Company.

The Uzbek side expressed gratitude for the visa-free regime granted to Uzbek citizens for up to 60 days.

Positive results were highlighted in the growth of mutual trade between the two countries, with mutual trade volume increasing by 170% in the first half of this year. The importance of measures to increase the number of joint investment projects and achieve a trade turnover of US$500 million in the near future was emphasized.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on developing a joint plan for enhancing trade, economic, and investment cooperation. This plan will include the implementation of joint projects in the fields of agriculture, tourism, food industry, and the production of textile and electrical products.
