Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The meeting of the Council on Tourism of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held on July 11 in Cholpon-Ata. This was reported by the press service of the Executive Committee of the CIS.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Business Center of the Economic Development of the CIS, and the Executive Committee of the CIS.

Council members were informed about the tourism policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, discussed the progress of the Strategy for the Development of Cooperation among CIS Countries in Tourism for 2021-2030, and explored new trends in the industry within the CIS.

The meeting participants approved the drafts of the Regulations on International Tourism Events of the CIS Countries and the Description of the Badge "For the Development of Tourism in the Commonwealth of Independent States". Both documents are planned to be submitted for consideration by the highest bodies of the CIS in due course.

Additionally, the meeting discussed the initiative to create a platform for joint work among associations and unions of the tourism industry of CIS countries, and the Work Plan of the Tourism Council for the year 2025 was approved.
