Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 4 July, the Uzbek soum has slightly decreased against the US dollar, but this change is insignificant.

On the market, the exchange rate for the US dollar is 12,580 soums. This means that the soum has decreased by 0.2% over the week.

A week earlier, its strengthening was estimated at more than 0.7% against the US dollar.

Supporting the soum is the factor of a strong Russian ruble. Support from this side will prevent the soum from weakening significantly.

The long-term risk for the soum remains the uncertainty factor in Uzbekistan's foreign trade operations.

Overall, the situation for the soum in mid-summer looks completely stable and transparent.

It is expected that in the coming week, the USD/UZS pair will trade in the range of 12,450 to 12,765.
