Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Rustam Karimjonov met with the General Director of the Invest Qatar agency, Sheikh Ali Al-Waleed Al-Thani.

At the online meeting, issues of attracting additional foreign investment in the IT sector and training personnel for the international labor market were discussed.

The organization of investment support for local startup projects and the development of joint plans for the development of the IT industry were also considered.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to create a working group to develop a practical plan and implement it in order to develop bilateral cooperation.

In addition, the Uzbek side invited Qatar to take part in ICTWeek 2024, which will be held on 17-20 September 2024, as a regional partner.

Earlier, as part of Web Summit Qatar - 2024, the delegation of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan held a number of meetings with representatives of Invest Qatar, Qatar Investment, Qatar Development Bank and Hamad Bin Khalifa. These meetings became the starting point for cooperation in the field of information technology with Qatar.
