Tashkent metro receives three new trains

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 May, the Tashkent metro received three new four-car metro trains, the press service of the capital’s metro said.

These trains were produced and supplied by the Russian company Metrovagonmash.

Technical testing of the new trains is expected to take 7-10 days, after which they will be ready for passenger service.

According to the capital's metro, the new trains will be used primarily on the elevated Circle Line, which will reduce the service interval.

Earlier, the governor of Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, said that Metrovagonmash plans to deliver 12 more cars by the end of June. A contract for the supply of another 60 cars in 2024-2025 is also being prepared.

In the period from 2019 to 2021, the Tashkent metro received 60 cars from Metrovagonmash.

Last year, another 44 metro cars were received, and in February 2024, three trains arrived in Tashkent.
