Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held in the Tashkent khokimiyat with the delegation of St. Petersburg led by the vice-governor of the city Oleg Ergashev.

The meeting was attended by the khokim of the capital Shavkat Umurzakov, deputy khokims, officials in the field of medicine and education. 

Shavkat Umurzakov expressed gratitude for the visit and noted that as a result of the openness policy of the leaders of the two countries, an opportunity has been created for large-scale cooperation between Tashkent and the regions of the Russian Federation, emphasizing the need to take full advantage of this opportunity.

He noted that, along with the economy, investment, business and industry, it is advisable to expand cooperation and mutual exchange of experience in the social sphere. 

The head of the St. Petersburg delegation proposed cooperation in the framework of many new potential projects. In particular, he said that in the coming days Russian specialists in the field of pediatrics and oncology will be sent to Uzbekistan to exchange experience.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue for effective cooperation.
