Boho zavhoz sentenced to 10 years in prison

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Almazar District Criminal Court of Tashkent passed a verdict against Bakhodir Sultanov, known by his nicknames “Boho Supply Manager” and “Terminator,” and the director of a car dealership in Navoi, Niyoza Ibodov on 16 May.

Both men were detained in November-December 2023 during large-scale raids to identify and detain representatives of “street gangs” and criminal groups in Tashkent.

Bakhodir Sultanov was previously convicted several times and was released in 2016.

Niyoz Ibodov is the founder (61.2%) and director of the Navoiy Avtosavdo car dealership. Other founders of this company are Sardor Gafforov (32.7%) and Lola Rakhimova (6.1%).

Niyoz Ibodov allegedly turned to Bakhodir Sultanov to help force his nephew Sardor Gafforov to give up his stake in Navoiy Avtosavdo.

In June 2023, Ibodov, Sultanov and other unknown persons entered into a criminal conspiracy to “solve the case.” They invited Sardor Gafforov to an office in the Almazar district of Tashkent and demanded that he transfer his share to Ibodov for US$200,000, threatening him with “physical destruction” if the demand was not met.

The court found them guilty under paragraph “a” of Part 3 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (extortion on a particularly large scale).

Bakhodir Sultanov was sentenced to 10 years in prison in a special colony, defining him as a dangerous repeat offender.

Niyoz Ibodov will spend 4 years in a general regime colony.
