Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 May, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the People’s Republic of China led by Vice Premier of the State Council Liu Guozhong, who is in Uzbekistan to participate in the next meeting of the Uzbek-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.
The head of the Chinese delegation conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council Li Qiang.
Topical issues of further development of multifaceted cooperation and deepening of all-weather strategic partnership relations were discussed. The progress in implementing the agreements reached following the high-level visit to China in January of this year is analyzed.
In this context, the fruitful results of the Committee’s activities, the steady growth in trade turnover and attracted investments, the increase in the frequency of regular flights, and the active holding of cultural events were noted with satisfaction.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of ensuring a balanced trade indicators and creating favorable conditions for access of domestic products to the Chinese market, accelerating the implementation of important investment projects in strategic sectors of the economy, expanding regional cooperation, and implementing humanitarian, educational and tourism programs.
In addition, aspects of the early start of the practical phase of work on the project for the construction of the PRC-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway were discussed.
