Enterprises of the electrical engineering industry of Uzbekistan produce goods for 5.1 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In the first quarter of 2024, the production volume of enterprises in the electrical engineering industry of Uzbekistan reached 5.1 trillion soums.

Exports increased to US$243.2 million. More than 200 types of products were sent to 72 countries by 98 exporting companies. At the same time, 16 new enterprises for the first time had the opportunity to export their products.

For the first time in the history of the electrical engineering industry, exports were made to Canada and the United States of America. Export of cable and copper pipes to Italy and India has begun. Domestic electrical products, using GSP+ benefits, arrived in 6 European countries.

Work continues to attract foreign brands. The production of household appliances under the trademarks of the Japanese JVC (Kenwood) and the Chinese TCL has begun.

As part of the localization program, products worth 830 billion soums were produced. The enterprises of the system processed 18 thousand tons of copper raw materials over the past 3 months.

Investment funds totaling US$75.6 million have been disbursed, including US$65 million of foreign direct investment. Payments to the budget of the association's member enterprises amounted to 203 billion soums.

By the end of the year, it is planned to launch 85 new projects in the regions with a total value of US$485 million. Plans for 2024 include increasing production capacity by 20%, increasing export volumes to 1.5 billion, as well as processing copper raw materials at the level of 140 thousand tons.

A specialized technology park will begin to operate in the Bukhara region. Also, 5 projects will begin work in the “Copper Cluster” in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region.

It is planned to launch the production of solar panels with a capacity of 300 MW in the city of Karshi and 200 MW in the city of Nukus by the end of 2024.
