Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Director of the International Institute of Central Asia (MICA) Javlon Vakhabov met with the director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan (CSS) Khayriddin Usmonzoda during a working trip to the city of Dushanbe.

At the beginning of the conversation, the parties highly appreciated the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, emphasizing that their further development corresponds to the interests of both countries. In this vein, Khayriddin Usmonzoda called the role of the leaders of fraternal countries the main factor in the development and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the meeting, the importance of building up comprehensive interaction and deepening cooperation between the expert and analytical community of the two countries was also emphasized. In particular, special attention was paid by MICA and the Center for Contemporary Art to holding a conference in the city of Dushanbe with the participation of representatives of leading research and analytical structures of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

It was noted that the relevance of this event is determined by the need to “synchronize watches” on key issues of the Uzbek-Tajik agenda and identify new areas of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the heads of think tanks signed the Action Plan of MICA and the Center for Strategic Research for 2024, which envisages the organization of mutual visits, participation of experts in international conferences organized by think tanks of the two countries, holding regular bilateral consultations on the eve of meetings and negotiations at the highest and high levels, thereby confirming the readiness to further deepen research cooperation.
