12 students from Uzbekistan will go on an educational tour to China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 12 March 2024, the Ministry of Digital Technologies hosted a meeting with participants of the Seeds for the Future 2023 project and an award ceremony for the winners of the Tech4Good competition. 

hhDeputy Minister of Digital Technologies Rustam Karimjonov, rectors and professors of universities, Huawei management and students of 7 universities of Uzbekistan summed up the results of the educational project.
 
The Ministry of Digital Technologies hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the global competition Tech4Good 2023, in which students of Uzbekistan received the Silver Award and People’s Choice Award. The final of the competition was held on 11 January 2024 and, based on the voting results of the expert jury, the project of the TechnoMinds team called “Aquatibia” was recognized as one of the best among the ten finalist teams.

As a prize, eight TechnoMinds participants will travel to China on the China Seeds Tour and receive a grant to implement their project. Considering the demonstrated potential of the youth of Uzbekistan throughout the Seeds for the Future 2023 educational project, 4 more participants from last year were selected to travel to China.
 
During the meeting, the results of the educational project Seeds for the Future 2023 were also summed up. In September last year, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, 15 students from 7 universities of Uzbekistan took part in a regional project in Doha, Qatar, which brought together 175 students from universities in 15 countries in the region Middle East and Central Asia.
 
“The main goal of accelerating economic development is to provide jobs for the younger generation. By implementing educational programs and conducting internships, we want to deepen the confidence of young talents to be qualified to work in international and local companies. Not only the companies themselves are interested in attracting young people, but the whole world needs qualified personnel with knowledge of innovative technologies,” shared the Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan, Mr. Chen Jiakai. - This year marks the 25th anniversary of Huawei in Uzbekistan, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Seeds for the Future project. We thank the ministry and universities for their support and hope to implement more joint projects.”
 
Throughout the Seeds for the Future 2023 project, students of Uzbekistan studied innovative technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, exchanged experience and knowledge with peers from around the world, and also took part in Talent Summits during COP-28 in Dubai and the Mobile World Congress MWC 2024 in Barcelona, in organizing visits of government bodies of Uzbekistan to Huawei headquarters in Shenjen in January this year.
 
In addition to implementing educational projects, Huawei in Uzbekistan also conducts internships for ICT students on an annual basis. 55 students, including 11 graduates of the Seeds project in 2023 and 2022, from 7 local universities were selected for a three-month internship at the company’s office in Tashkent.

"Seeds for the Future" is Huawei’s flagship global educational program, carried out as part of its corporate social responsibility. Since its launch in 2008, the program has enrolled more than 18,000 students from 141 countries. In previous years, 50 students from Uzbekistan took courses under the program in China, 82 students took part in the online version of the program in 2020 - 2022. In 2017, 4 participants of the “Seeds for the Future” project from Uzbekistan took part in the international summit “One Belt, One Road” in Beijing.
