Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 March, a meeting of the delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov was held with EPAM Systems Vice President for Technology Solutions Chris Layer and Vice President for Public Sector Anna Danegger.

The minister invited the company to expand educational activities in Uzbekistan, given that EPAM is the world’s largest IT educational company. He stressed the need for their contribution in training the 65,000 IT professionals the country requires next year, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. The parties also discussed the possibility of attracting financing from the World Bank and the IMF.

The minister proposed creating an e-government development center in Uzbekistan, taking into account EPAM’s experience in this area.

Company representatives expressed their willingness to consider the proposed ideas and hold additional discussions with senior management.

Further discussion is planned in the relevant working groups on both sides.
