Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The public project “Car Free Day” will be held in Tashkent monthly. The project is aimed at reducing the movement of vehicles within one working day.
This is envisaged by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On the state program for the implementation of the strategy “Uzbekistan-2030” in the “Year of Support for Youth and Business”.
The restriction will not apply to public transport, as well as to special and emergency services vehicles.
Heads and other employees of all republican and executive authorities whose offices are located in Tashkent are instructed to “show a personal example by arriving at the workplace by public transport.”
The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Ministry of Transport and local authorities of Tashkent are responsible for the unconditional implementation of the new norm.
