Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the head of the Agency for Strategic Reforms (ASR) with the Director General of the Russian Strategic Initiatives Agency (STA) Svetlana Chupsheva was held as part of the activities organized during the business trip of the delegation led by the Director of ASR Bakhodir Rakhmatov. 

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the directions of cooperation between the two agencies, as well as the experience of STA in working with regions and implementing development programs.

“We have already presented to the President of Uzbekistan a proposal for reforms that need to be carried out this year as part of the Uzbekistan 2030 strategy. They relate to the areas of transport, telecommunications, agriculture and water management, organization and development of entrepreneurship, and energy security. The President also instructed us to study the problems on the ground. We are just developing such experience, and it would be very useful for us to get acquainted with your practices in this area,” said Bakhodir Rakhmatov.

He added that ACP will intensify interaction with ASI and will form a cooperation roadmap for 2024, which will include work through the platform for searching for best practices Smartek, Boiling Points, as well as the platform of the National Technology Initiative.

Svetlana Chupsheva noted that ASI and the Agency for Strategic Reforms in Uzbekistan generally have a similar agenda in various areas of socio-economic development. “We will be glad to see what your priority tasks are now, what the mechanics of your work are, what practices, so that perhaps you can use them too. Our team is absolutely open, ready to hold joint meetings, present the results of projects and programs that ASI has today,” said the Agency’s general director.

In addition, Svetlana Chupsheva and Bakhodir Rakhmatov discussed projects that Uzbekistan can join within the framework of international multilateral structures.“We are holding the Green Eurasia climate competition for the second year. Last year, we received more than 300 projects that relate to the environmental agenda, the climate adaptation agenda, and technologies in this area from different countries of the Eurasian space. For companies, participation in the competition means going beyond the borders of one country, these are new foreign partners,” said Svetlana Chupsheva.

Applications for the competition are accepted until 31 March in four areas: “public policy and finance,” “climate mitigation,” “climate adaptation,” and “outreach and education.” Svetlana Chupsheva also spoke about the joint competition with the EAC “Symbols of Eurasian Integration”, this year it is being held for the first time. The competition is aimed at finding new technological projects that are implemented with the participation of representatives of several states of the Eurasian Economic Union and provide significant social, economic and technological effects.
