Localized products presented to the President of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the enterprises of Andijan Industrial Hub in Andijan district.

This industrial zone, with an area of 105 hectares, includes 12 projects in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and building materials. One of them is Auto Spring Components LLC. With a total cost of about US$60 million, the enterprise can produce 18 thousand tons of steel parts per year.

Casting parts are the basis of modern industry. Their production requires high skills and technology. Previously, the share of imports of such parts was high in the domestic automotive and mechanical engineering industries. Now, after their localization, the cost will decrease, and the competitiveness of products will increase.

The Head of state inspected the technological process at the enterprise.

The production of cast iron parts for cars and agricultural machinery is established here, based on technologies from Germany and China. U.S. companies developed the metal casting facilities, and Chinese partners developed the machining line. Last year, spare parts worth 830 million UZS were produced for four types of agricultural machinery.

This is the project’s first stage, and 140 jobs have been created. The second stage for producing cast automobile parts will be launched in May this year.

The unique plant is capable of simultaneously casting 12 tons of metal. Notably, the enterprise also processes metal waste from the Asaka Automobile Plant.

When the complex reaches total capacity, localized products worth US$27 million will be produced annually. During the report to the President on information about localized products, it was noted that special attention needs to be paid to reducing costs and using green technologies.

This year, 10 projects worth US$156 million, which will employ 2 thousand people, will be launched in the hub. In 2025, it is planned to create another 400 jobs by implementing 2 projects worth US$14 million.
