Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia plans to open a consulate general in Samarkand in 2024, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with TASS.
The Consulate General in Samarkand is considered significant due to the historical significance of this city and its attractiveness for Russian tourists, the diplomat noted.
By opening a consulate in Samarkand, Russia plans to facilitate its citizens’ access to consular services, given the presence of a large number of Russian compatriots in the city and its surroundings.
